CHARLOTTE, NC, November, 2024 Queen City Audio Video & Appliances is excited to announce the acquisition of multiple Badcock Home Furnishing & More stores across North and South Carolina. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Queen City’s growth, allowing the company to serve an expanded customer base across the region. This starts the company’s major initiative to introduce its new Queen City Homestore concept in early 2025, offering an extensive selection of appliances, outdoor products, electronics, mattresses and furniture.
The initial rollout will include seven locations in Fayetteville NC, Durham NC, Burlington NC, Goldsboro NC, Rockingham NC, Columbia SC, and Aiken SC, with plans for further expansion. Ranked #36 among the Top Major Appliance Retailers in the U.S. by TWICE Magazine for 2024, the company will continue to broaden its product offerings, including a more robust furniture selection, enhancing Queen City’s ability to provide customers with a convenient, one-stop shop for all their home needs.
To ensure a smooth transition and continued excellence in service, Queen City is welcoming experienced leadership and retaining many key employees from the acquired Badcock stores. Notable hires include, David Horvath, former Badcock furniture buyer; Evan Sides and Justin Klinegardner, former Badcock's franchise owners; and Luis Nater, a former franchise owner who will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s strategic initiatives within the Hispanic community. Additionally, Dave Orrico, former Regional Manager at Nationwide Marketing Group, has joined the team to support general sales, merchandising and operations for all markets. With the addition of this skilled team, Queen City is poised to strategically expand into these markets across the Carolinas.
Queen City has also developed a comprehensive onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition for many of the existing Badcock employees, with the goal of opening the newly branded stores under the Queen City banner by January 2025.
